David says: Both 'Good to see you too!' and  'Eat Street Melbourne' were captured during a time when businesses in Hosier Lane collaborated with professional mural artists to create vibrant murals throughout the area. I took the original photos in 2011, then recolored them, added gradients, and super-saturated the colors to achieve the look you see in my artwork. 

Since 2013, graffiti artists have overpainted these works — resulting in a less artful look, more grunge as is the nature of graffiti, with an unfortunate lack of beauty. What was once a canvas of curated creativity has now become a mere backdrop for tourists, losing much of its original charm. However, what I love is the fact that I've captured a moment in time through my work, my own way of keeping a piece of the charm and beauty. 

Eat St Melbourne - the original is framed and ready to hang - black frame with silver edge and white mounting.
