What David says: In my past life, I have a fashion textile career and worked with our family’s fashion enterprise so I have a long association and love of fashion. This work is inspired by New York fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi, his fashion and models on the catwalk.
By using gradients of colour, light distortions, motion lines and dots, these rather light whimsical moving paintings came to life. I love the elegance of the catwalk, the models strutting so beautifully down the New York Fashion Week catwalk. I've immortalised these icons of fashion - taking the movement of catwalks - and brought it to life, but as a moment captured in a still image.
